It depicts a rickshaw that was popular in the early Meiji period, but both the rickshaw driver and the two customers are rabbits. It says “shared ride”. It seems to be a work when rabbits became a boom in 1873. From Morimasa’s “Fashionable Car Tsukushi”. It is scheduled to be exhibited at the exhibition “Hakobu Ukiyo-e - Cars, Ships, Trains” held at the Ota Memorial Museum from October 1st.
